Prevention

Home

Prevention describes the set of strategies and tasks that stop people from becoming homeless. While some prevention efforts and strategies can be universally applied to a broad set of people and households, other prevention efforts can be targeted and specific in order to prevent homelessness for households who are demonstrably closer to losing their housing, such as marginalized people and neighborhoods, households with eviction proceedings initiated, and households who are showing up at the front door of the homeless system. The resources and tools below are designed to help your community use targeted prevention efforts and implement prevention programs to maximize resources and results.
